A native of Bloomington-Normal, David graduated from Bloomington High School in 1968 before serving in the U.S. Marine Corp from 1969-1971. After an honorable discharge, he attended Illinois State University and graduated in 1975 with a Bachelors Degree in Business. While attending college David honed is skills working as a carpenter. In 1976 entered into a career as a general contractor specializing in new construction and remodeling. In 1979, David relocated to Phoenix, AZ building for Pulte Homes. In 1980 David returned to Bloomington where he married his wife, Kathy and began Long Custom Building and Remodeling, Inc. Now , for over 25 years, David has been remodeling and building quality homes in the Bloomington/Normal and surrounding areas and was even the feature story of the Builder/Architect Magazine.
A native of Armington, Illinois. Kathy graduated from Olympia High School in 1974 then attended Illinois State University. While at ISU, she worked in the Housing Department and Placement Office. After college, Kathy worked as an Administrative Assistant in Research for Ciba-Geigy Seeds until 1990 when she began her career in the construction business along side her husband.
